Happy Easter

Happy Easter everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend! We went to Delta for the weekend and the weather was just beautiful. We even got kissed by the sun=)
Saturday was filled with family fun: Big brunch on the lawn, easter egg hunt, riding horses, and much more. McCoy obviously didn't know what was going on but I still had to include him in the festivities.

Our little easter bunny. Oh I just love that face!!!

McCoy's easter basket.

He is going to be one heart breaker when he gets older. (I didn't pose him like this, he did it himself)

Heaven

How do you picture heaven? I believe in the what the Scriptures say about the Plan of Salvation but I think that when I die that all the past Prophets, Heavenly Father, and important people that I loved will be there welcoming me. Like at the end of Titanic. I know I'm funny to think that way. Oh and I can't forget all my pets that died=)

We lost our beloved Rex on February 19th to a 22 month battle with cancer. He died at home with my mom by his side. I can't imagine how much pain my mom is going through. It just makes me heart ache thinking about it. Blake and I went to Texas for the funeral. I never went up to the casket because I didn't want that to be my last image of him. We couldn't believe how many people came to the TX funeral! It's just amazing how many lives he touched. Even our Hispanic landscaper came! I learned alot about Rex, like he was so willing to help everyone and anyone. For example, after he had some chemo treatment done he saw and guy that just had some treatment done as well and he was hitch hiking back home to Oklahoma. Rex being who he was drove him all the way home! The other day a man was asking for some money for gas and I was prompted to give him a few bucks, first thing that came to my mind was Rex. Anyways we all few back to Utah and my mom came with us. We had a burial funeral up in Wellsville (near Logan) that is where Rex grew up. We couldn't believe how many people showed up there! It was so nice of people to come all the way up there to pay their respects.

It still just doesn't seem real to us. Just the other day I was thinking I need to get his advice about somethings and then I realized that's not possible. These are a few of my favorite memories of Rex was when he would drive me to school and we would sing "Hey Jude" by The Beatles, when we lived in Georgia he got me a pink blow up couch for Christmas, he would pretend to put quarters into my back and I would go crazy silly, when him and I went to go pick up our Bandit when he was just a puppy, and making my pink barbie pine wood derby car for church. Again it just doesn't seem real... it really does feel like he is on a business trip.

I know that Rex is up there playing the banjo for the angels to sing to and throwing the ball for our dog Bandit. We love you Rex!!!!

Okay how about something uplifting!
Blake got into the University of Utah, so guess where we will be moving? That's right folks, up to Salt Lake City! I'm excited to be up near a mall =) And things to do with McCoy like the ZOO and Children's Museum. So if anyone knows of a 4- 5 bedroom house for rent up there let us know please! My mom is going to live with us for a while so that's why so many bedrooms.

McCoy is almost 5 months old! At his 4 month dr. appointment he weighed 13.8 lbs (30%) and 24.4 inches (34%). He hums all the time and is such a loud talker. He has rolled over a few times and has been eating cereal and veggies. I usually feed him cereal in the morning/lunch and then a veggie for dinner. McCoy is also getting a tooth. The whole top is now showing so when he smiles it's just the cutest thing ever! He are soo blessed to have him in our lives! We love you Mr. Magoo!

Love this little boy!

He is starting to really like his jumper

Messy face from carrots

Happy Valentine's Day!

Well can you believe it's already February!?! Each year time flys so fast.
McCoy is 3 months now. He had a little cold so we went to the doctor and he weighs 13lbs. He is getting so big and wants to either sit up or stand up. He has the funniest laugh. It's more of a grunt than a giggle but it sure makes us smile. He has the cutest dipoles when he gives us a big grin. He has been sleeping through the night since 2 months so Blake and I are thrilled to get some sleep! He goes to bed around 9 or 10 and wakes up at 6 or 7. Everyone has asked us how we got him to do that and I think the number thing is that he has never slept with us, EVER! And we kept him on a feeding schedule. I'm no longer breastfeeding anymore... sigh of relief alittle just because I didn't have anytime and I wasn't producing enough for McCoy anyways. I suggest to everyone that if and when you decide to dry up your milk supply to do it slowly. I would go every 4 hours a day, 5 hours a days, 7 hours a day, etc. and then I would pump once in the morning and once right before bed, then 1 time a day. Doing it this way was much nicer because only the first day hurt and that was it! DON'T QUIT COLD TURKEY! And I didn't smell like cabbage=)
Blake has gotten an invite interview to every school he has applied for! So proud of him! In a couple of weeks he will be going to the U and we are crossing our fingers that he gets accepted because it's the cheapest school.
School is going good for both us. We are just soooo busy! I don't have class on Fridays so I get to spend all day with McCoy and I think he enjoys having his momma all to himself.
Rex is still with us but he can't remember anything, like he thinks he got into a car accident. He is way past all the expectations about how long he had left. Pretty sad but he got a pretty neat blessing from a Seventy. My mom is an amazing woman to stay by his side day and night with him.

Christmas and Texas

Hey there=)
Can you believe it's already 2012? Ya know the world is going to end soon;) he he. Well alot has happened since my last post. Christmas was good. We got to talk to Hadley over skype! Pretty cool, so he got to see McCoy for the first time. He is doing good and has been out for 3 months. Blake was loving the break getting to ride horses almost everyday. McCoy was cranky in Delta and as soon as we got home he became his old self again. He had his 2 month appointment and is over 10 lbs and over 22 inches long. He is very smiley in the mornings. He loves to watch Toy Story!

Santa came to visit over at Myers' big family Christmas party. McCoy was on the nice list.

My best present ever!

McCoy got spoiled with all his presents from everyone.

For New Year's Eve we flew to Texas to visit my family. I'll admit that Christmas just didn't really feel like Christmas because of the circumstances. It was hard saying hello and saying goodbye. But can I just say that I love spending time with my family=) And I know that they really loved us being there too. McCoy got to meet his grandpa for the first time. Texas has the best shopping ever! If we didn't have school I probably would have stayed there for a really long time. Ha. The weather there was beautiful; I got to wear flip flops and McCoy got to sit outside in the sunshine.

Me and My Grandpa!

Just chillin

My first horse ride.

McCoy's first time being outside in the sunshine.

Say cheese.

We have started our last semester here at SUU!!! We are thrilled! I'm in the Block and Blake is just finishing his classes for Pharmacy school. We should hear from UTAH soon about an interview. I'm a little nervous about the Block just because we have a lot of things to do, I sure hope that I can do it well and take care of McCoy.
McCoy go this shots and he did really good. We did half and half, so the first ones man was he mad and screamed. But the second set he was asleep so just whimpered for a minute than fell back to sleep. That is the key I guess=)

Our big boy! He is starting to look more and more like Blake everyday.

Blessing

Yesterday Blake blessed McCoy. He did a great job and McCoy was such a good baby during it. Poor thing has a little cold right now though, but we think he is getting better. We are so lucky to have such great families that could come to the blessing. My mom was able to come but we sure missed Rex. He was just too weak and sick to come. Also my dad, grandma, and little sisters flew in for it too.

Our little family!

Blessing outfit- we lost a button.

Well we made it through finals once again and are out of school for Christmas Break and are in Delta until after Christmas. Blake is in heaven =) We had a competition this past Saturday too. They did so good and I'm so proud of them! We got 2nd in Military, 2nd in Dance, and 1st in Character. Dixie is going to be tough to beat!

Anniversary

This post is dedicated to my wonderful parents... It's their ANNIVERSARY today=) I'm sure it's a bittersweet day considering the situation.

16 years ago today, Rex and Tauna Lindley were married at Union Station in Ogden, UT. I was the flower girl =) Rex got some baggage; a kid and an inside dog!- The dog grew on him, and I guess so did I;)

This is when Rex had hair and my mom had big hair. Haha. Oh and I wouldn't take off my crown for anything!

How it all started... Rex's sister lined them up over the phone (very strange story) because we lived in Utah and He lived in Texas. My mom went and visited him a few times and couple months later we went out to visit and Rex took us on a horse carriage ride in Downtown Dallas. He asked my mom to marry him. After they got married, we moved to Red Oak, Texas. I had a kitty room! I could go into all the stories about Rex but that will be another post someday.
This past July, they were finally sealed for all time and eternity in the Dallas, Texas Temple. The had been trying to get sealed for a EVERY LONG TIME! It all worked out perfect and just in the nick of time.

Thank you Rex for taking such good care of us and loving both of us.
We love you guys!!! Happy Anniversary! MUAH <3

Almost A Month

Where has the time gone?! I swear it was just yesterday we were leaving the hospital to come home. Well McCoy is getting so big. He is now out of preemie diapers and clothes and can now fit into newborns. I don't have many newborn clothes because we were expecting him to be 7 or 8 lbs and everyone said that they aren't in newborn clothes for very long. So luckily my aunt is sending me all her clothes. Thanks Janette!
He is 4 weeks old today and will be a month old this Saturday. And for his birthday, we will be at UVU for his first drill team competition, to cheer on our Talon's! Saturday will be very interesting to see how well he does away from home and with lots going on. When I've taken him to practice he just sleeps so good through the blaring music so hopefully he will do the same there too.
His Stats are:
Weight: 7.5 lbs= 8%
Height: 20 inches= 10%
Head: 14 inches= 11%

He is starting to like his swing.

McCoy likes his sling. So does mom, so I can do stuff.

Our precious little boy

He is so cute when he sleeps.

The last 2 weeks have been rough. McCoy was so gasy so he would just cry and scream, but once he pushed it out he was so happy. Now he is sleeping at night for 5 hours before waking up to eat. Blake and I couldn't be happier! But during the day it's still every 3 hours. He has started to spit up, or should I say shoot up. He sure can shoot it far too!

Since his cord fell off, we can give him real baths.

Blake has been a great help. He is way more involved with helping me more than I ever thought he would be. He is changing diapers, burping, feeding, and gets up with him in the night. There were many times when McCoy be would be wide awake and would cry if you put him down, so Blake would rock him for a while so I could get some sleep. I'm so lucky to have him as a husband. I don't think I could have survived these past weeks without him. Lover you Blake!

Loves hanging out on dad's chest.

This upcoming week is our last week of school and then it's finals. I don't have any finals =) WHOOT WHOOT! Love being an education major! Blake has like a billion, of coarse. But he will do awesome like always.
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and that yall got some smokin Black Friday deals!
